Welcome to Sweet Fern - a cottage with a character all its own -- sunny, but soothing, with a welcoming lightness. Challenged to think "green", we chose to recycle - furniture! Relying on a few antiques (the Eastlake mirror: the baptismal font turned into a powder room sink, dozens of botanicals),vintage ware (the '40's bamboo suite made fresh in Chinese red and "sweet fern" fabric), plus custom pieces made by local artisans (the dining table and the kitchen sculpture loaded with dishware), we end up with "green" plus a one-of-a-kind look. In Sweet Fern, not one thing is mass-produced. It's all about originality and easy luxury put-your-feet-up-fun.
